    CCM PHARMACEUTICALS CORPORATE MILESTONES

      Year Milestones
    1. 1976 Incorporated on 27 May 1976 as Upha Corporation Sdn Bhd. [Upha stands for University Pharmacy] as a family-owned trading company with small facilities to manufacture liquid and cream.
    2. 1977 Manufacturing facilities extended to include Oral Solid Dosage (OSD). Uphamol brand was introduced to the ethical channel.
    3. 1979 Manufacturing facilities extended to include Eye & Ear Drop products. Introduced Nicol, Neo Deca and Betacin into the ethical channel. Oral Aid Lotion was also introduced to the ethical channel.
    4. 1980 Shifted to Subang Jaya with a new plant with a built-up area measuring 6,000 sq. ft.
    Introduced Champs and Uphamol brands to the OTC (Over-The-Counter) market.
    5. 1990 Shifted to Bangi with a new plant that has a built-up area measuring 124,000 sq. ft.
    6. 1993 Introduced Naturalle and Eye Glo brands to the OTC market.
    7. 1995 Bought over by CCM for RM50million.
    Warner-Lambert was also acquired by CCM together with established brands e.g Flavettes and Sloan’s to form the new Pharmaceutical Division for the CCM Group.
    8. 1996 Softgel plant using the Pharmagel technology from Italy commenced operations. It is the 1st softgel plant in Malaysia.
    9. 1997 Received TGA (Therapeutic Good Administration) certification from Australia’s Ministry of Health.
    10. 1998 Introduced Proviton and O-Fresh brands to the OTC market.
    11. 1999 Received Halal certification from JAKIM for Champs, Flavettes, Naturalle and Proviton products.
    Proviton won the Industry Excellence Award by MITI for pioneering in research of excellent product quality.
    12. 2000 Winner of Enterprise 50 organised by SMIDEC and Andersen Consulting.
    13. 2001 Obtained the Malaysian Ministry of Health’s certification as a manufacturer meeting the Pharmaceutical Inspection Co-operation Scheme (“PICS”) which is widely recognised in Europe.
    14. 2003 Won Consumer Choice Awards for Flavettes and Champs at Guardian Pharmacy.
    15. 2004 Champs was awarded by Superbrand Malaysia.
    Champs won the Consumer Choice Awards in Guardian and Watson’s.
    Omesec won the Special Award for Innovative Product from MITI.
    1st sponsorship for Tabung Haji Pilgrims.
    Sponsored medicines and health supplements for Tsunami victims.
    16. 2005 Champs won the Kids Vitamins category in Watson’s.
    Flavettes won the Best Sugar Free Vitamin C in Watson’s.
    Champs awarded “Superbranding” by Parents Magazine-Hong Kong.
    17. 2006 Change name to CCM Pharmaceuticals Sdn Bhd to highlight our GLC status via CCM Bhd.
    Established partnership with DKSH to be the main distributor for OTC products in West Malaysia.
    Champs, Flavettes and Uphamol 650 won the Consumer Choice Awards in Guardian and Watson’s
    Intergration of the two plants to Bangi site.
    TGA certification extended to OSD plant.
    18. 2007 Sponsored health supplements for flood victims.
    CHAMPS awarded “Superbranding” by Parents Magazine-Hong Kong for the 2nd time.
    CHAMPS won the Kids Vitamins category in Watson’s.
    The new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, which is being built adjacent to the current manufacturing facilities in Bangi, has a built-up floor area of 90,000 sq. ft.. This new plant, costing RM62m, would have high speed machines employing the latest technology to cater to the demands from the region, and started commissioning in Q4 2007 with beneficial production targeted for early 2008.
